The surface has a natural brushed finish that turns into iridescent blues and reds when heated. Unlike stainless steel, titanium does not discolor, does not corrode and never needs polishing thanks to its high acid and salt resistance. Titanium also dissipates heat twice as fast as steel, protecting the fairing from excessive heat exposure when stationary.
